Amazing they could communicate without a radio or telephone. Fancy using flags to spell words.

Great listening skills Eoin. I didn't hear those interesting facts. I wonder how long it would take for the tailor to make the clothes?

Each convict had their own mark. That way the overseer could check the number of bricks each convict made. Then he could see who was not working hard.

There was no such thing as a day off for a Convict. You are correct if they had a day off they were doing the wrong thing, which meant they got whipped. Imagine working in the very hot sun with no shade.

What a great post. Thank you for the recount of going up the spire at the St Thomas' Church. I have never been up the steps. You should be proud of yourself if you still did the step even though you were scared. It sounds like the view would be fantastic from the top of the steeple.

Arabella Innes' dress was amazing. It was a surprise to see it hidden in the cupboard. It is stored in the dark so it is not damaged by the light.

We went to St Thomas' church maritime museum and the historic museum. It was fun. Anyway I never knew what convicts were but now I do. I learnt that If convicts don't do what they were told they get whipped by a cane or a cat of nine tails.
